The opening lines

Every life carries a tale.
Mine begins by paying attention.

I photograph the tender, untamed moments and work with plants as old companions. Both practices begin in the same place: with noticing.

Light moving across a familiar face. Yarrow appearing at the field’s edge. The quiet magic is already here—we only need to slow down long enough to see it.

The photography

Explore the practice

Hello, I’m Sylvia.

A photographer, folk herbalist, and devoted observer of small wonders.

My work began with a camera in one hand and a field guide in the other. I’m drawn to honest connection, the intelligence of plants, and the way a familiar landscape changes when we truly look.

Whether we’re making photographs or sitting down over tea, my approach is gentle, unrushed, and rooted in care. There is no performance here—only space to be fully yourself.
